Let's Talk Mental Health and Importance of Sleep
Today, January 25th, is Bell Canada's "Let's Talk" day. A day to talk to friends, family, strangers, about mental health and things that are both going wrong and going right. Here and now, I open myself up to any and all conversations regarding mental health. Speaking out helps other people......
I have thought long and hard about writing this entry ONLY because my 'privacy' will be open to everyone BUT I believe very strongly that by not doing this would be wrong. I do NOT want sympathy at all just help others in the same predicament.
At age 67yrs and one of MANY 'baby-boomers' now becoming older by the second I find myself in a hell of a mess!
Ageing means so many things apart from the daily aches/pains/illness/fatigue/failing hearing and eyesight.
On top of everything comes marriage and loneliness which is not talked about at all.
I have been married now for 35years to a very kind man (Martin). Since retiring M has gone throug
I watch as humans cheat and lie
And turn on each other like starved rats.
I see beasts snarl or grin at me
Uglier than half-eaten cats.
I walk alone, caked in dirt
My body made of sin
I feel bare and disgusted
With every breath, stench comes in.
This is not who I am
This look just isn't me
This long dark hair and bare pink skin
It's not reality.
My true body has feathers
My true body has wings
My true body soars above
All of these filthy buildings.
My true form is not perfect
He can't accept who he is.
But I have finally realized
I can.
